Can a Trader Prevent Liquidation after the Maintenance Margin Is Breached?

Once the maintenance margin is breached, the automatic liquidation process is typically initiated and cannot be stopped. The only way to prevent the breach is to proactively add more collateral (margin) to the account before the margin level falls too low.

This is often referred to as "topping up" the margin.
