Does Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Achieve Finality Differently than PoW?
Yes, PoS can achieve stronger, deterministic finality through mechanisms like "casper finality" in Ethereum. Once a block is finalized by a two-thirds supermajority of validators, it is cryptographically guaranteed to be irreversible without a massive, network-breaking economic attack.
PoW, conversely, only offers probabilistic finality, where the likelihood of reversal decreases exponentially with each new block.
