How Do Block Times Influence the Effectiveness of MEV-related Front-Running?
Block time is the average time it takes for a network to generate a new block. Shorter block times increase the speed and frequency of transaction inclusion, making it harder for attackers to consistently calculate and execute profitable front-running strategies.
Conversely, longer block times give miners/validators more time to observe the mempool, calculate optimal MEV extraction, and submit their front-running transaction with a guaranteed high fee, thereby increasing the effectiveness of MEV-related front-running.
