How Do Covered Call Strategies Utilize the Concept of Time Decay?

A covered call strategy involves holding shares of an underlying stock while simultaneously selling (writing) call options against those shares. The seller collects the premium from the buyer.

This strategy aims to profit from the option's time decay (Theta) and the eventual expiration of the option worthless, allowing the seller to keep the premium.
