How Does a CEX Use an “Omnibus Wallet” to Manage Customer Funds and Withdrawal Security?

A CEX uses an omnibus wallet, a single, large wallet that holds the combined funds of many customers, to manage funds and withdrawal security. This pooling of assets allows the CEX to process withdrawals quickly and efficiently from the hot wallet without having to wait for individual on-chain transactions for every customer.

For security, the omnibus wallet is typically segregated into hot (online, for quick withdrawals) and cold (offline, for secure storage) portions, with a strict process for moving funds between them.
