How Does ‘Delegated Proof-of-Stake’ (DPoS) Differ from Pure PoS?

In pure PoS, all stakers can potentially become validators. In DPoS, token holders vote to elect a limited number of delegates (witnesses or block producers) who are responsible for validating transactions and producing blocks.

DPoS is generally faster and more scalable than pure PoS but is often considered more centralized due to the smaller set of block producers.
