How Does ‘Proof-of-Stake’ Contribute to Sybil Resistance?

In a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) system, participants must stake a significant amount of the network's native asset to gain the right to validate transactions or, in the case of a DON, to provide data. This staking requirement makes it economically prohibitive for an attacker to acquire enough capital to control a majority of the nodes (Sybil attack).

The financial cost of attack outweighs the potential gain, thus securing the network.
