How Does the Energy Consumption of PoA Compare to Pure PoW?

PoA is significantly more energy-efficient than pure PoW. While it retains a PoW component for initial block template creation, the computational work is less intense and shorter-lived than the continuous competition in pure PoW.

The majority of the security and validation comes from the PoS phase, which requires minimal energy for signing blocks. This hybrid design drastically reduces the overall carbon footprint.
