How Does the Latency between the Miner and the Pool Server Affect the Number of Valid Shares?

High latency (delay) between the miner and the pool server increases the chance of submitting stale shares. When a new block is found, the pool must quickly notify the miner to start working on the new block header.

A delay means the miner continues to work on the old block, increasing the likelihood that their submitted shares will arrive too late and be rejected as stale.
