In Options Trading, What Is the ‘Strike Price’?

The strike price, also known as the exercise price, is the fixed price at which the holder of an option contract can buy (for a call option) or sell (for a put option) the underlying asset. This price is determined when the contract is created and remains constant until the option's expiration date.

It is a critical factor in determining the profitability of the option.
