Is Execution Risk Higher for an American-Style Option or a European-Style Option?

Execution risk is generally higher for an American-style option. This is because the American-style option allows the holder to exercise at any time before expiration.

This introduces uncertainty for the market maker, who must constantly be prepared to hedge a potentially exercised position, which increases the execution risk of the hedge. European options only allow exercise at expiration.
