What Are “Flashbots” and How Do They Relate to Mitigating or Optimizing MEV?

Flashbots is a research and development organization that created a system for a transparent, fair, and efficient MEV extraction market. It allows traders to submit "bundles" of transactions (including their front-running strategy) directly to a specialized miner/validator, bypassing the public mempool.

This prevents public mempool front-running and shifts the MEV profit from the miner/validator to the searcher, making the process more efficient and preventing network congestion from gas wars.
