What Are “Just-in-Time” (JIT) Liquidity Attacks and How Do They Exploit Concentrated Liquidity Positions?
A just-in-time (JIT) liquidity attack is a sophisticated MEV strategy that targets concentrated liquidity positions. The attacker monitors the blockchain for large, pending trades.
Just before the trade is executed, the attacker deposits a large amount of liquidity in a very narrow range around the current price. This captures the majority of the fees from the trade.
Immediately after the trade, the attacker withdraws their liquidity. This allows them to "snipe" the fees from passive liquidity providers without taking on significant market risk.
