What Are “Searchers” and “Validators” in the Context of MEV Extraction?

In the context of MEV, "searchers" are automated bots or individuals who monitor the public mempool for profitable MEV opportunities, such as arbitrage or front-running. They construct transaction bundles, known as "MEV bundles," to execute these strategies.

"Validators" (or block proposers) are the network participants responsible for ordering and confirming transactions into a new block. Validators receive the MEV bundles from searchers and decide which ones to include, profiting from the fees paid by the searchers.
