What Are the Consequences of Failing to Meet a Margin Call Promptly?

Failing to meet a margin call will result in the automatic, forced liquidation of the trader's leveraged position by the exchange's risk engine. The position is closed at the current market price to prevent the account balance from falling below zero.

The trader will lose the entire margin allocated to that position and may incur liquidation fees.
