What Happens to an Out-of-the-Money Option at Expiration?

If an option is still OTM at expiration, it will expire worthless. This is because the strike price remains unfavorable compared to the final market price of the underlying crypto.

The option holder will not exercise their right to buy or sell at a disadvantageous price. Consequently, the buyer loses the entire premium paid, and the seller keeps the premium as profit.
