What Is a “Deep In-the-Money” Option?

A "deep in-the-money" (DITM) option is one where the underlying asset's price is significantly far past the strike price. For a call, the underlying price is much higher than the strike.

For a put, the underlying price is much lower. DITM options have a very high intrinsic value and typically trade close to their intrinsic value.
