What Is a ‘Satoshi’?

A Satoshi (sat) is the smallest unit of Bitcoin recorded on the blockchain. It is named after Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

One Bitcoin is divisible into 100 million Satoshis (1 BTC = 100,000,000 sats). Transaction fees are typically quoted in sats/byte.
