What Is the Delta of a Short Call Option Position?

A short call option position has a negative Delta, ranging from 0 to -1. Since a long call option has a positive Delta (0 to 1), selling the call reverses the sign of the Delta.

For example, if a long call has a Delta of +0.45, the short call has a Delta of -0.45. This negative Delta means the position loses value as the underlying asset price increases.
