What Is the Difference between a Community and a User Base?

In a crypto project, a user base consists of people who simply use the product or service, like a trading platform. A community involves users who are actively engaged, contributing to governance, discussion, and development.

The community is driven by shared ownership and a vested interest in the protocol's success, often holding governance tokens. A user base is transactional; a community is relational and participatory.
