What Is the Difference between PoW and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Consensus Mechanisms?
PoW relies on computational power (mining) to validate transactions and secure the network. PoS, in contrast, relies on validators who "stake" or lock up a certain amount of the native cryptocurrency.
In PoS, block creation rights are determined by the amount of stake, not the energy expended. PoS is generally considered more energy-efficient than PoW.
