What Is the Purpose of the Pool’s Stratum Protocol in Share Submission?

The Stratum protocol is the communication protocol used between the miner's software and the mining pool server. Its primary purpose is to efficiently transmit the mining work (job) from the pool to the miner and the resulting proof-of-work (share) from the miner back to the pool.

It allows for dynamic difficulty adjustment and reduces the network overhead compared to older protocols.
