What Is the Relationship between Theta and an Option’s Strike Price?

Theta is generally highest for at-the-money (ATM) options because they have the most time value to decay. As the option moves deeper ITM or OTM, its time value decreases, and consequently, its Theta value also decreases.

Deep ITM options have very low Theta because most of their value is intrinsic, which does not decay.
