What Is “Total Value Locked” (TVL) in DeFi?

Total Value Locked (TVL) is a metric representing the aggregate value of all crypto assets currently staked or locked in a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, such as a lending platform or a decentralized exchange. It is often used as a measure of the protocol's overall health, popularity, and utility.

A higher TVL generally indicates greater trust and liquidity in the protocol.
