Who Are the Main Actors Involved in Extracting MEV?

The primary actors in MEV extraction are network validators (or miners in PoW) and specialized bots, often referred to as searchers. Searchers run complex algorithms to monitor the mempool, identify profitable MEV opportunities, and construct optimal transaction bundles.

They then bid for priority by paying a fee directly to the validator. Validators, who are responsible for ordering transactions in a block, ultimately decide which bundles to include, allowing them to extract the MEV or share it with the searchers.
