Why Are Weekly Crypto Options Particularly Susceptible to Rapid Theta Decay?

Weekly options have a very short time until expiration, often less than seven days. The Theta decay curve is steepest in the final weeks of an option's life.

Consequently, a significant portion of their extrinsic value erodes each day compared to monthly or quarterly options. This rapid decay makes them unsuitable for long-term hedging but attractive for strategies betting on immediate price action or for collecting premium quickly.
