Why Is a Stop-Limit Order Less Likely to Be Filled in a Fast-Moving Market?

In a fast-moving market, the price can rapidly move past the specified limit price before the order can be executed. Since a limit order guarantees the price but not the execution, if the market price is worse than the limit price, the order will remain unfilled.

This leaves the trader exposed to the market movement without the intended protection.
